I never teach my pupils, I only attempt to provide the conditions in which they can learn.

― Albert Einstein

As an educator, my primary goal is to establish a positive, supportive, and productive learning environment that develops and promotes the students’ academic success and their social and emotional wellbeing.

WHY I TEACH

Education then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is a great equalizer of the conditions of men -- the balance wheel of the social machinery.

— Horace Mann

I truly believe that a good quality education facilitated by a dedicated and passionate educator is indeed the greatest equalizer.  Through teaching, I am able to help my students secure a brighter future by serving as a positive role model and promoting lifelong learning.  Additionally, I am able to help develop confidence in my students so they can grow mentally, emotionally, and socially to become the best version of themselves.

HOW I TEACH

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.

-William Butler Yeats

I aim to bring a positive attitude, consistency, and warmth to the classroom each day while maintaining high expectations.  I actively engage my students through the incorporation of technology, through hands on learning, and through the use of real-world applications.  I am sensitive to my students’ backgrounds, academic level, and their goals aiming to connect with their personal experience and expectations to better help facilitate their learning.

WHAT I TEACH

To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.

— Mother Teresa

Above and beyond the standard curriculum, I teach my students necessary skills such as compassion, creativity, communication, accountability, problem solving skills, innovative and critical thinking, and responsibility.  Above all, I strive to teach my students about persistence, dealing with failure, and to always stand back up after a fall.
